Wise County Courthouse

Thompson & Litton was selected by the Wise County Board of Supervisors to provide comprehensive Architectural and Engineering services for exterior restoration and repairs to the Wise County Courthouse, located in downtown Wise, Virginia. The Courthouse, originally constructed in 1896, is recognized as a historic landmark and is on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places.

Project Highlights:

• Services consisted of preliminary assessments to address the physical needs of the structure including structural integrity, along with functionality concerns such as energy opportunities and making the front lawns accessible to the public.
• Other design services addressed cosmetic issues with the overall structure’s exterior aesthetic.
